Hawaiian Town 10th Anniversary
Yokohama World Porters will hold "Hawaiian Town 10th Rainbow Anniversary" from July 16, 2022 (Saturday) to celebrate the 10th anniversary of "Hawaiian Town," a collection of Hawaiian fashion, and general merchandise, food, and restaurants. Hawaiian Town opened in 2012 on the first floor of Yokohama World Porters as an indoor facility that recreates the streets of Hawaii under the concept of "Real Core Hawaii. During this period, a number of events will be held throughout the facility to give visitors a resort-like atmosphere. In addition to selling super-limited items, rainbow-related products, and a decadent limited menu, visitors to the indoor petting zoo "Anitouch Minato Mirai" will be able to see capybaras in a flower bath full of Hawaiian imagery from a "zero distance". To commemorate its 10th anniversary, a number of events will be held not only in "Hawaiian Town" but also throughout the entire facility to give visitors a resort-like experience. Leonard's, a long-established bakery in Hawaii, will offer Leanard's Rainbow BOX (1,440 yen), which includes three kinds of cream for the first time. The limited edition creams include pistachio with a savory flavor, purple potato with a gentle sweetness, and passion & orange with a fruity aroma and sour taste.
In addition, Blue Water Shrimp will offer "Garlic Shrimp & Beef Pineapple Braised Curry (1,010 yen, limited to 10 servings per day)," a limited edition curry with beef and beef tendon braised in pineapple for 10 hours and garlic shrimp marinated in 10 different seasonings.Instagram > https://www.instagram.com/hawaiian_town/Google Map > https://goo.gl/maps/hj6Q85rndYfMjaDaA
"Bidama" Tempura Stand
Enjoy a freshly fried tempura set meal at Yokohama Motomachi's "Bidama" Tempura Stand! It is an at-home drinking spot that offers new tempura styles, such as ita washa, taro nikkorogashi, shiitake mushroom blue cheese tempura, and more. This Tempura and Side Dishes Stand opened in July 2021 and is located on Shiomizaka Street in Motomachi. You can order extra tempura and free refills of rice and miso soup.
When you ask for one of the set menus and sit down, they serve you a Chinese tea that changes daily.
The rice is an original blend supervised by Mr. Yamazaki, a rice master. The soft, fluffy white rice is filled with crunchy brown rice, giving the rice a delightful texture. The small bowls of pickles and omelettes are also handmade, of course. Their reasonably priced, easygoing lunches are becoming popular among the locals. We would definitely like to visit in the evening when you can enjoy their special tempura such as shiitake mushroom blue cheese and mentaiko hanpen. Google Map > https://g.page/b_dama_stand?share
Kikuna Park Pool
Kikunaike Park Pool is an amazing local pool with a large flowing river and smaller pools throughout the ground. If you live in Yokohama, you should go there at least once and is also a great place to take the kids during summer vacation. The Kikuna Park Pool is located near Myorenji Station, which many people may not be familiar with because express trains do not stop there. It is one of the best ways the whole family can spend half a day.Kids are 100 yen and adults are 300 yen.Google Map > https://goo.gl/maps/t8g4ar6djioW8eo5A
Dream Drive - Building, selling, and renting campervans.
“Whenever I recall and share childhood stories from growing up in the UK and Australia, they almost always begin with a road trip. I had to ask myself “why? why do most of my most memorable childhood stories begin with a journey, and why have I not been making these memories here in Japan? While working in an office in Tokyo for about 10 years, I came to the realization that many Japanese are traveling and experiencing RV road trips abroad in the United States, Australia, Europe, etc. but not doing so in their own country. Japan is in my opinion one of, if not the best country for free-spirited road trip travel as the roads are safe and there are thousands of clean toilets and onsen all throughout the country. My dream with starting this company was to not only build great campervans but also help put Japan on the global map as a top road trip destination.”
